Gotta get back in the swing of things, but need to work on balance. I have two kids to educate and a house full of cardboard boxes; I cannot disappear into my pretend world totally, tempting as it may be.

I plan to enter the Highlights Fiction contest. I also plan to work on my verse novel and submit it to Milkweed Editions. That's enough to work on for now.

I just upgraded to a paid account. I didn't renew last year since we were going through the GREAT UPHEAVAL of transitioning from active duty to retired military life.

We are at last in new digs in a new town in an old state we've already lived in twice. I'm living amongst tall columns of cardboard boxes and trying to find my brain.

Writing came to a screeching halt months ago, and now I'm getting back into things. .. concentrating on craft first.

Amazing but not surprising ... my fave indie bookstore back in my old city had lots of CRAFT related writing books on the shelves ... the B&N in my new city had market books, how to make a million dollar books, how to self publish books ....

So I guess the first thing I'll do is spruce this place up a bit ... now that I have full features again.
